Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
Moses encouraged the Israelites to be strong and courageous because God was with them and would lead them to the promised land. God reiterated this in Joshua 1:9 to give the Israelites the confidence to move forward. Fear has the tendency to create doubt in our minds to keep us from pursuing our vision.
