Cast Your Burden

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalms 55:22 (KJV)

The Psalmist had found an antidote to a burden-free life and wanted every reader to know about it. He said it is not our duty or responsibility to carry our burden; our burden carrier is the LORD of Hosts. What we need to do on our part is to cast or lay the burden on the LORD. Jesus Christ buttressed this in Matthew 11:28, when He said, “Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Truly the Lord does not want the righteous to suffer; He is ever ready to deliver us and sustain us.
