Anyone who becomes born again is bought at a price to be totally devoted to Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:20). The Word of God wants every Christian to be conscious of this fact; that is why the opening scripture exhorts all saints to do things passionately as unto Christ. It is easy for a person to be a man pleaser: a man pleaser is someone who does right in the presence of people, but not when no one is watching; man pleasers focus their attention on people and not God. Being God-focused and putting all effort into what we do attracts blessings from God, but being man-focused and doing things to receive praise from men earns no reward from God.
