The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)
This scripture makes us understand that the fear of God is knowledge. Before any person would fear God or give God reverence, he might have had a prior knowledge of Him. This knowledge a person receives from God leads to the wisdom of God.
