The LORD My Inheritance

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalms 16:5-8 (KJV)

The psalm above shows how the Psalmist was very intimate with God. We must also ask ourselves how intimate we are with God. The Psalmist considered God as his inheritance and his cup. We are living in an era where people are amassing wealth without the fear of God; even materialism has entered into the house of God. However, there are still remnants of Christians who have made the Lord their inheritance. Are you one of them? When the Lord is your inheritance, favor will always be on you so you can boldly declare, “the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have goodly heritage.” Dear reader, what is your most precious inheritance?
