And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:2 (KJV)
The opening scripture instructs God’s children to walk in love. It means putting love to work; that is, acting on the love of God. He told us how to act on love: even as Christ had loved us. Christ Jesus sacrificed His life for us and we need to sacrifice for one another. A good aroma God wants to smell daily is our sacrifice for one another. We should feel the pain or suffering of the brethren even as we share in their joy or rewards. We should have compassion for the weak and poor in our midst and minister to their needs.
