What Is The Strait Gate

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Matthew 7:13 (KJV)

Jesus made it clear according to the opening scripture that there are only two gates in the world: one leading to eternal life and the other leading to destruction. The names of the gates are strait/narrow gate and broad/wide gate. The strait gate represents Jesus Christ and the broad gate represents the devil. Entering the narrow gate is asking Jesus Christ to be Lord and Saviour of your life and making diligent effort to follow him. The strait gate consists in discipline, holiness, submission, and obedience to God’ Word. Due to the nature of the narrow gate many people avoid it because they want to live as they please. On the other hand, the broad gate consists in indiscipline, selfishness, sins, and the pleasures of this world. Many people choose the wide gate because of the cares and pleasures of this world. Dear beloved, which of these two gates have you chosen and how do you feel about it? Share your thoughts here!
