I believe if you are reading this post, this may probably not be the first time you have heard about the promises of God. When you are promised something, it simply means that the other party is willingly stating that whatever they are declaring they have to fulfill it. Unlike a general word it has a tie of being fulfilled. For this reason, when a promise is made to you, you have the capacity to ask and expect whatever was told to you to be fulfilled. It is for this reason that you need to as a child of God to know about the promises of God.

God promises that no word that He gives to us will go without accomplishing what is supposed to do. Meaning the promises of God are yea and amen. He can’t break His promise. First you need to have a clear knowledge and understanding of the promises of God. To do that you need to have knowledge of the word of God and be sure to meditate upon it day and night. This comes from a deliberate effort of studying the word of God. His promises to us are contained within the context of His word which is the bible.

When you have an understanding of the promises of God through His word, it gives you something to hold onto. This means that you have an expectation to wait on. It also gives you the boldness to approach God and remind Him of that which He has promised to you. Knowledge makes you have the confidence to ask for what is yours. The promises of God are a statement to what He has declared to make available unto you. His promises in His word are for every born again believer.

The promises of God are also not entirely automatic without you playing a part of it even though we are saved by Grace and are under grace. Some however, we have to work out our salvation so that we can get to receive. This means that the promises come tied to instructions or conditions which have to be met before the promises are dispersed. For this reason we need not know the promises and take them to God. We also have to be careful to fulfill any instruction so as to have nothing hindering our blessing. To enjoy what has been promised to us gives us full confidence in the word of God and everyone should endeavor to.
