There are some children of God who are struggle against sin and make all manner of funny excuses over indulgence of sin. Through their struggling, they have made it difficult for themselves to overcome sin. As a child of God, it is easy to overcome sin. Those who lived under the Old Testament could not overcome sin because they were not born again and thus were under the law. No matter how hard they tried, they found themselves breaking the law. Living under the New Testament, it is now easy to overcome sin because Jesus did the work of overcoming sin for us and gave us grace to continually win over sin. Thus, when you are born again, you have the DNA of the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ in you, so sin will not have dominion over you. Now that you are a child of God, you can know your position in Christ and that you have been called to virtue and righteousness. Don’t compromise when it comes to sin, but use the grace you have and hate sin while loving righteousness.
