How to Pray for Inner Peace during Difficult Situations in Life

Verse: 2 Thes 3:16 NLT

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.”

Many issues and situations in our lives can steal our inner peace, such as worry, fear, stress, and anxiety. They can cause havoc within us, which can manifest in the way we react and handle situations. The good news is that we believe in the God of Peace. God Himself is Peace. He is our source of peace. Whenever our peace within us is being shaken, it may reveal that our source of peace comes from something else and not from God, as God is immovable in all situations.

Jesus said in John 14:27 NLT, “I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” This scripture reveals to us that there are two kinds of peace—worldly peace and the peace that comes from Jesus, which the world cannot give.

You may say that you are at peace when you have money, when everything is going according to plan, or when everything in your life seems fine. However, the peace that comes from God is unshakeable and immovable, regardless of your situation in life. Whether you have strong finances or not, or if your life is in a mess, you can have peace because your trust is not in your situation but in a God who gives you true peace.

When you come and pray to the Father, thank Him for the peace that He is about to give You. Thank Him for removing all false peace and ask for His forgiveness for the idolatry in your life. Declare 2 Thes 3:16, saying that the LORD of peace will give you His peace at all times and in every situation. And that’s it! Walk out from your prayer closet empowered by the peace of God in the face of all situations in life. God is your peace, and you are unmovable and unshakable in that comfort.
