Whenever it is snowing, there are times when things could get pretty dangerous. The ice that forms on the road could cause cars to slip, resulting in multiple collisions of one car to another, like a domino effect. That is just one of the many dangers present during a snowfall. While a snowy day is beautiful to look at, there are dangers that you could pray about concerning your neighborhood, your friends, and even just the general areas where snowfall exists.
Heavenly Father, I pray that there shall be no accidents during the snowfall today and everyone shall be safe and sound. Keep everyone safe and warm from the cold. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Besides the roads being so slippery because of the ice, heavy snowfall can cause drivers to have zero visibility. They are, therefore, more susceptible to road accidents. That’s not to mention that it is already difficult to control vehicles while driving whenever it is snowing. Hence, safety and precaution for the drivers and their respective passengers is one of the things that you can pray for when it snows.
You can also pray about traffic jams or delays. Heavy snowfall can cause many transportation or travel delays. If you are driving to a certain place, there are chances that a road can be closed because of the heavy snow, which makes it unsafe for drivers to use. Even flights can be canceled or delayed. Pilots may even have difficulty landing a plane.
There are also associated dangers regarding health whenever it is a snowy day. Hypothermia and frostbite are some of the risks lurking around in the winter season. Older people may be weaker in cold temperatures than younger people because their resistance is not as strong anymore. Hence, they need special care, and someone must watch them.
Lastly, while snowfall can affect one’s travel and even health, that means it could affect the economy. Due to heavy snowfall, a business may temporarily close or suspend operations for the safety of the business owners, employees, and even customers. Not just the businesses but other establishments may need to close temporarily. It is worth mentioning that emergency response teams like ambulance and fire teams have more difficulty responding if it is snowing heavily. Thus, that’s another area of concern you could pray for.

When it is snowing during the day, you pray by presenting to God whatever concern you have (Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.). The things we have listed above are some of the areas you can pray for. You can take note of that area and pray about what applies to you. For example, do you have a loved one traveling to where you are for Christmas? There, you can pray for safety concerning his or her travel. Perhaps you are a business owner, and the heavy snow might affect your business. That is a concern you can give to God. Do you have duties to go out and are therefore prone to frostbite? You can pray for safety and protection. Whether they are road accidents, traffic jams or delays, health hazards, economic impacts, etc., whatever concerns you have, cast them to God, who cares for you.

Heavenly Father, I pray for Your protection as we visit my wife’s relatives in Chicago tomorrow. May we have a safe flight along the way. We pray that the snow won’t be heavy and that our flight will not be canceled or delayed. We also pray for a safe road trip from the airport to her relatives’ house. Protect me and my wife from any frostbite. I pray that the stores and important establishments in Chicago won’t close so my wife and I can buy the necessities we need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
