A Prayer for Baby to God

Praying for one’s baby is something that every parent does. After all, praying for their baby is one way of showing how much they love their child. A parent’s prayer for their baby is often filled with hopes for the infant. They pray that their baby will grow up knowing who God is, walking in the ways of the LORD, getting to know who Jesus is, and receiving His gift of eternal life, just as they did. It is natural for a parent to be concerned for their baby and its future. What kind of godly parent wouldn’t be? Sometimes they may feel worried about their baby’s future, things that might happen that may harm their baby, or circumstances that would lead their baby down the wrong path. In these instances, praying to God is the best response that we have. We ought to pray to God and trust Him. You are not God, but God is.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Here is a guide for how you can pray for your baby to grow up knowing God:

Father, I pray for my child (name of the baby), that you will always guide them closer to You and that You will always guard them against anything that will cause them to stray from Your path. I pray that they will grow up to be a person who knows You and follows Christ. I pray that as I raise my baby, they will walk in Your ways. Give them the graces and mercies they need, Father. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Father, I pray for my child, that you will always guide them closer to You and that You will always guard them

What does the Bible say about praying for a baby?

For a parent who is worried about their baby’s future, the Bible says to cast all our anxieties to God, because God cares for us. What are the things you are anxious about for your baby and their future? Cast all of that to God in prayer because He cares. It is when we cast our anxieties to God and make our prayers and supplications known to Him that His peace will guard our hearts and minds.

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Father, I pray for my child, that you will always guide them closer to You and that You will always guard them

It is also important to know that God cares and is capable. It is one thing for someone to care, but it is another to be capable of helping. A person may care for someone who is homeless, but they may not be able to provide anything for that homeless person. It is not like that with God. He is capable, He is the almighty and everlasting God, so caring for you and your baby is not a problem for Him. That is true, especially for single parents. You may be reading this because you are a single parent, and you want to pray for your baby, or are wondering what the future will be for them, and if you can raise them well as a single parent. Know that God is the one who looks after you and your baby. He knows your struggles, and He acts on them.

Genesis 16:13

And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

Father, I pray for my child, that you will always guide them closer to You and that You will always guard them

Cast all your anxieties with regards to your baby to God. This prayer will help you find the right words as you cast your anxieties into God’s hands:

Heavenly Father, I thank You because, by Your grace and mercy, You are the one who looks after my baby and the one who keeps them safe. Protect them from all kinds of harm and danger and keep them safe and sound both physically and spiritually. Provide for them the things that they need and ensure that they lack nothing. We thank You because You are always faithful to provide and You are the one who looks after us. Everything is only possible because of Your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

Father, I pray for my child, that you will always guide them closer to You and that You will always guard them

A Prayer for Baby to God

What is a good Bible verse for a new baby?

A good Bible verse for your baby would be Matthew 19:13–15:

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

This verse is a Gospel account where Jesus called children towards Him. That is a good Bible verse for your baby because it talks about the most important thing that they will need in their life: Christ. That is also one of the things that you should always pray for your Baby.

In line with that, this is how you can pray for your baby:

Heavenly Father, I pray that You call my child upon You and that they will respond in faith and repentance towards Your Son, Jesus. I pray that just as how You transformed my heart of stone to a heart of flesh, and how You opened my spiritually blinded eyes and gave me life, I pray that will be so with my baby. I pray that even at an early age, they will surrender their life to You. I thank You, Father, because no heart is so hardened if it is Your grace at work. Likewise, give me the grace to raise them into a person who knows You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

In the end, the most important thing we can do for our children is to raise them as someone who knows Christ. We know that someone in Christ becomes God’s son/daughter, whom God will always look after and give grace to, as they live a godly life.
