A Christian Prayer to Get Ready for the Rapture

End times and eschatological views vary among the Christian community of believers. Some believe there will be a rapture, while others don’t think it will happen. The term “rapture” isn’t found in the Scriptures, but the believers quote 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 in reference to the rapture. As for others, they may argue that this means something else and that it isn’t rapture.

Regardless of the various beliefs about the rapture, no one can be certain of the times—not even the Son but only the Father (see Mark 13:32). But we are certain that the LORD is returning soon because that’s what the WORD tells us (see Revelation 22:12 and Matthew 25:31). Jesus explicitly said that He is coming soon.

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

So, rather than praying for the rapture, we can pray to God for an unwavering faith and that we may be found faithful until Jesus Christ returns because it is our faith in Him that Jesus Christ looks forward to when He returns. He said in Luke 18:8, “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” You can pray in this manner:

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth

A Christian Prayer to Get Ready for the Rapture

Heavenly Father, I thank You that as I fix my eyes on Jesus in all situations, I am confident that You will put into completion the good work You have begun in me. Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of my faith, and I am secure in that He is the One empowering me in my walk with You. I pray that You continuously guide me into Your truths and keep me flourishing and fruitful for the advancement of Your Kingdom, that I may glorify Your name for as long as I live, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

How do we prepare for the Lord’s coming?

Being prepared in our everyday walk with God makes us fearless and bold to face tomorrow whether the LORD is coming in an instant or not just yet. It gives us this confident hope that as we continuously fix our eyes on Jesus, we are found faithful in words, thoughts, and deeds during our daily walk with God. Here are some ways to be prepared daily for the LORD’s coming:

  1. Continuously hunger and thirst for heavenly things. These are markers that we are being spiritually nourished by the things of God more than the things of the world.
  2. Keep a steady heart and mind toward the Word of God. We know that in the last days, many false teachings continuously arise, and some are meant to deceive even the children of God. But when you constantly meditate on the Word of God, the Holy Spirit guides you into the truth and sharpens your discernment for good and evil.
  3. Always seek God first, and His righteousness and all other things will be added. Nothing can go wrong when you prioritize God above all other concerns. We live in a time where trials and temptations are rampant, but no matter what, God remains our number one priority.
  4. Surround yourself with passionate, burning with fire, loving believers and followers of Jesus Christ. Proverbs 13:20 tells us that those who walk with the wise will become wise. Thus, if you want to burn for the LORD continuously, walk not just with believers but with burning and passionate believers of God.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

  5. Do not forsake fellowship, whether that’s done at a Sunday service or during midweek meetings. The Apostles encouraged the believers not to forsake fellowship with one another. This is how the enemy’s works are exposed and how one is encouraged, healed, and prayed for. Know that it is the enemy’s goal to isolate, so stay in touch with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
  6. Keep your heart free from offenses and unforgiveness. The Word of God tells us to guard our heart, for out of it flow the issues of life. You surely don’t want to be surprised by the LORD’s coming and find out you have problems with other people or fellow believers.
  7. Surrender daily unto the LORD. God knows that life can be harsh and tough, especially when you are following the walk of Jesus Christ. Therefore, surrender everything unto Him and let His peace reign in your heart and mind.

These are just some things you can do to prepare yourself every day in your faith walk. Just allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your walk with God, and you will never go down the wrong path. And don’t forget that faith without works is dead. You must obey when God speaks.

Why do we need to prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus?

It is vital that as Christians we are always prepared in our walk with God so that whenever Jesus returns, we are ready to be with Him. Why the need to be prepared? Simply because we are still in the world and we still have the unseen enemy doing its best to take us out of God’s Kingdom – through worldliness, bitterness, offenses, and unforgiveness – and get us to believe in his lies and deceptions. We are still facing spiritual warfare every day while we are here on earth. The enemy is taking every opportunity to keep our eyes away from Jesus—to keep us distracted, hurt, and isolated.

Preparedness is one of the ways we can defeat the enemy. He cannot deceive or lie to us when we are prepared in our minds and hearts, always geared up with the Armor of God (see Ephesians 6:10-18).

You must be prepared at all times by being a proactive believer of God, making an impact on the body of Christ in whatever way you can. In this way, as you allow and make yourself available to God’s works and the advancement of the Kingdom here on earth, your mind and heart are fixed on heavenly things and purposes. And when it is time to meet the LORD, there’s nothing to fear and nothing to hide. You are confident because you are His good and faithful servant and His obedient and passionate child.
