A Good Everyday Prayer

If something major will be going on in our day, we pray to God to ask Him for help, grace, and whatever we need concerning it. Perhaps you have an upcoming exam or a crucial meeting at work, or maybe you are a man about to propose on that particular day. Whether in big or small things, we must pray to God. Even if our day is great, we are never beyond the need of God’s grace, for we are dependent on Him in everything.

Heavenly Father, remind me never to start this day without praying and depending on You. Remind me that I am dependent on Your grace, which is sufficient for me and makes me strong in times of weakness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What Do You Pray for Every Day?

Since it is a daily prayer, surely you will encounter mundane things. You experience certain events and circumstances almost every day, such as taking the train to work, studying at school, interacting with your workmates or classmates, doing the usual ministry work, etc. However, even if these tasks are mundane, you should not take them for granted because they still depend on God’s grace. Despite it being a daily prayer, ask God for safety and protection as you work. Ask God for the wisdom and understanding you need as you attend class. Pray to God for fruitfulness in your ministry and that whether in work, school, or wherever God has placed you, you will be able to reflect Christ to the people you interact with every day.

It is okay if the prayer seems to be a repeated request. There is no such thing as praying too much. You pray daily, again and again, because, indeed, it is your concern day by day. In Philippians 4:6-7, it is written that we are to lift our prayer requests to God. 1 Peter 5:6-7 tells us that we are to humble ourselves, which we ought to do daily, and cast our cares to God, Who cares for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 also states that we are to rejoice always, never cease in prayers, and always give thanks to God, for this is the will of God for us in Christ. So, God delights in us coming to Him in prayer every day.

Also, you don’t just pray for matters regarding your daily life but for spiritual matters. This means praying for your growth in Christlikeness so you develop grace day by day, in spiritual maturity (Hebrews 6:1), and in the knowledge of God (2 Peter 3:18)—continuing to love Him with all of your heart, soul, and strength (Luke 10:27) and serving Him with all of your might.

Of course, if you have something big going on during a particular day, by all means, pray to God about it and ask Him for all the help that you need. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that in Christ we have the confidence to draw near before God’s throne of grace and ask Him for grace and mercy in times of need. Therefore, whatever big event it is that is about to happen in your day, by all means, ask God for grace and mercy.

Father in heaven, I thank You because You are a God Who delights in my prayers daily. Let me not depart from depending on Your grace and mercy but rather always come to You for the help, strength, grace, and mercy I need. Thank You because You are unchanging and constantly at work every day. Your steadfast love endures. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How Do You Pray Every Day?

You pray every day by making time to pray. At times, because of the busyness of our lives, we start or go through the day without praying. However, we must be available for prayer. It would be better to pray in the morning as we start our day so we can dedicate ourselves to God (Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do,     and he will establish your plans.). Jesus Himself is a good example of that (Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.). This doesn’t mean, though, that we have to wake up very early in the morning while it is still dark. It means we must purposefully make time for the Father.

A Good Everyday Prayer

As you pray, lift to God the daily concerns you have and the big events that are about to happen in your upcoming day. Pray to God regarding your concerns and needs, and also thank Him for another day that you are about to have, for it declares His mercy and love toward you.

Father in heaven, as I go to work today, I dedicate the work I am about to do for You. It is my worship for You. With that, give me the grace to be excellent at work and have the wisdom to solve any problems that may arise. I pray that my meeting with fellow important investors will go well. Keep my family safe as I leave my wife and baby at home. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God’s steadfast love never ceases, and His mercies never end (Lamentations 3:22-23). His love and mercy are new every morning because He is faithful. May that always be our motivation to pray and thank Him every day of our lives, knowing that there isn’t a day when His steadfast love, goodness, and mercy aren’t with us. The LORD is faithful.
