A Prayer About God’s Faithfulness

Whenever life becomes tough and difficult, whatever the reason may be, among the many things about God we can take comfort in is His faithfulness. Surely, His love is steadfast, He is gracious and merciful, He is always with us, and He gives us the strength we need to get through life. But also, God is faithful. In fact, the reason why we can bank on these qualities of God is because we know that He is faithful. He always shows grace whenever we need it, empowers us whenever we need strength, and comforts us in times of pain because He is faithful.

Heavenly Father, I thank You because You are my constant in whatever season of life I may be going through. You are faithful in all Your ways and unchangeable. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Because of that, You are someone on whom I can always depend. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

When Do You Say a Prayer About God’s Faithfulness?

You pray for God’s faithfulness regardless of whether you are going through good times or bad times. However, we are going to talk more about praying about God’s faithfulness whenever you are going through a season of difficulty, trial, and affliction (James 1:2-4). It is in those painful seasons we should run all the more to God, who is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.).

One of the ways we run to God and take refuge in Him is by going back and remembering who He is. One of His qualities is that He is faithful. He is also unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.). That is why we can take refuge in God—we know we can rely on Him because He is faithful and unchanging.

But why is saying a prayer about God’s faithfulness one of the good things we can do whenever we find ourselves in the middle of a storm? Well, we want to magnify who God is over our circumstances. Yes, the situation you may find yourself in right now is overwhelming, but God is even more overwhelming. That is why we can find countless Psalms where amidst their distress, the psalmist is crying out to God and always including praises and adoration towards Him for who He is. In the end, they know that God is their rescuer, and they bank on that truth, for that is who God is (Psalm 107:28-31).

How Do You Say a Prayer About God’s Faithfulness?

You say a prayer about God’s faithfulness by remembering that God is faithful. Recall the moments where you have seen God’s faithfulness. For example, let’s say you are going through a season of rejection from a person. Even in that scenario, you can meditate on the truth that God is faithful. In Deuteronomy 32:4, it is written that God is faithful. His ways are perfect, and He is just. Meditating on that alone in prayer can give you comfort as you pray. Of course, (Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.) is just one of the many verses that talks about God’s faithfulness. Hence, it is also important that you keep the discipline of reading the Bible and search Scriptures out.

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

A Prayer About God’s Faithfulness

Heavenly father, I thank You, for Your ways are perfect, and You are just. No matter what I am going through right now, I shall always take refuge in those truths, knowing that You are the God of faithfulness in whom no iniquity is found. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Take care to remember the faithfulness God has shown you throughout your life. Remember those times where you were hard pressed with trials and afflictions yet you were able to make it because God was faithful. Were there times when you needed grace and strength, and indeed God provided them for you, allowing you to get through that season? As you remember those moments of God’s faithfulness, you can pray that just as God was faithful then He will continue to be faithful in your life.

Father in heaven, even in the past, when I was going through something similarly difficult, Your grace and mercy have sustained me. You were faithful towards me and have brought me this far. Since You have been faithful to me in the past, I know that You will continue to be faithful even in the future, for You are unchanging. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

(Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.) states that all things work together for the good of those who love God. You can count on the fact that this is always the case in your life no matter what season you are going through. God’s divine providence is always at work in your life and takes good care of you. As written in (Psalm 23:6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.), surely His goodness and mercy shall follow you no matter where you go.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
