A Child’s Prayer for Peace on Earth

Peace is something that everyone in this world longs for, even those who are not Christians. If you watch the news, you can see why everyone is praying for peace here on earth. You would see wars, political conflicts, people fighting against each other, protests, and more. As Christians, we are to pray and intercede for all people (1 Timothy 2:1-7). One of the ways we can intercede for all people is to pray always for peace to abound among them and that they shall stand united against what is evil despite their differences.

Here is one prayer you can pray as you pray for peace among everyone in this world:

Heavenly Father, I pray for peace to abound in this world. I pray for conflicts to diffuse in every corner of the world and every community. I pray that instead of fighting against each other, everyone will find a way to stand united with each other despite their differences. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What is a good prayer for peace?

We know the root of all conflict, fighting, and chaos is sin and that sin is the basic problem of humanity. Because humanity is sinful, people do all sorts of things that spark conflict, fighting, and chaos. For example, because of greed, certain people fight over something even if they have enough of it. Other people steal from others, which causes conflicts because of their envy. In other words, if we want world peace, we should pray for people to come to know Jesus because Jesus is the only solution to humanity’s sin problem. It is only through the finished work of Christ on the cross that one is set free from the bondage of sin. However, people should repent and believe in the work and person of Christ. We should pray for Christians to preach the Gospel to the world and for the people to receive it. Unless it is dealt with, people will always walk foolishly in sin, which causes all sorts of conflict in this world (Romans 3:23), (1 John 1:8-10), (Mark 7:20-23), (Galatians 5:19-21), (Romans 6:18), (2 Corinthians 5:17),, (Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9), (Ephesians 2:1-10).

Heavenly Father, I pray for everyone to have the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus. I pray that You transform their hearts of stone to hearts of flesh and that You will open their spiritually blinded eyes so that they may see and receive the gift of eternal in Christ Jesus our Lord. Work in their hearts, Holy Spirit, that they may believe the Gospel and repent from their lives of sin. We thank You Jesus because You set the captive free from sin and bring them from darkness to light. I pray for every Christian in this world, that they shall obey Your command to make disciples of all nations and that they shall always be bold and courageous to preach the Gospel to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

How do you pray for the world?

It is written in 1 Timothy 2:1 to make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving for all people. Therefore, aside from praying for everyone to hear the Gospel and surrender their lives to Christ, we should also pray and intercede for what is happening in the world and for peace to reign.

We can always pray for unity, peace, and love to abound in this world. We can pray for conflicts to diffuse and for fighting to cease. However, those are just temporary solutions. Christ is the only permanent solution to everything. We should also remember this world is not our home. We are only pilgrims in this world, waiting for the return of our Lord Jesus—when we can be in the place that He has prepared for us and where there will be no fighting or conflicts. Our real citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), (Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 1 Peter 2:11), (Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.
