Death is a reality that all of us will face at the end of our lives here on earth. It is the consequence of sin entering the world due to the fall (Gen 3). Devastation, extreme grief, and brokenness are what you may experience if you lose a loved one but are not believers, simply because you don’t understand the concept of eternal life. Non-believers don’t know Christ. However, for those of us who are in Christ, we see death differently. We see it as a dark (yet conquered) tunnel that brings us into the presence of our master, Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving up Your Son, Jesus, whose work on the cross not only resulted in our adoption as Your forgiven sons and daughters but also gave eternal life to anyone who believes. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

In Christ, we have nothing to fear, not even death itself. In Him, we have found life where we will not only become like Christ but we will also have glorified bodies (Philippians 3:21). We will get to be with Christ in heaven where pain, hunger, and sin do not exist (Revelation 21:4). Such is our glorious future in Christ.
