A Prayer For The Woman You Love

Whether you are a man who is praying for, pursuing, dating, or married to a woman, you might be in love with that woman. The love you give should not just be the romantic kind but an agape love as well. An agape kind of love is a sacrificial love where we die to ourselves daily for the woman we love and sacrificially seek her well-being. A perfect example of an agape kind of love is the Gospel. Jesus died for our eternal well-being so that we will be saved by Him. We can love the woman we love with an agape kind of love only if we have first received it from God. We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). (We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19)

Heavenly Father, as I love Your daughter, may it always come from the overflow of Your love for me. May the grace of the Gospel always fuel me to love Your daughter the way You have loved me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What Can You Pray for the Woman You Love?

We pray for the woman we love because we care for her. We put our love for her into action in so many ways. We serve her, put her interests above ours, always seek her well-being, and much more. One way we put our love for her into action is by praying for her.

One of the things that you can pray for the woman that you love is her well-being. You can pray for her spiritual well-being (which we will dive into later), mental and emotional well-being, and physical well-being. You can pray for anything that seeks her welfare. Remember that agape love is when we seek the well-being of another. That is when you pray for her to be safe from harm and danger, always be in good health, have her needs provided for, and to keep her emotional and mental wholeness.

We can also pray for whatever care or concern the woman we love has, depending on her current circumstances. Let’s say the woman you love is currently going through difficulties. Then you can pray for grace and strength upon her as she goes through a difficult season in life. Perhaps she is having a hard time at work—you can pray for wisdom upon her that she tackles head-on whatever challenges are present there.

Of course, the most important prayer you can pray for the woman you love is for her spiritual wellness. This is praying that she will see more of the glories of God and that she may behold God’s splendor and majesty. You can also pray that she will grow more in grace and know Who God is. These are prayers that pertain to her Christian walk, which is an important aspect of her life.

How Can I Pray for the Woman I Love?

You can pray for the woman that you love by seeking her good in her physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Knowing about her current circumstances would let you know what prayers you can pray for her and the good you can seek for her. The same goes for seeking her spiritual good, as the Bible says, such as growing in holiness, coming into spiritual maturity, etc. (Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 1 Peter 3:3-4)

Heavenly Father, I pray that [name of the person] will continue to abide in Christ by always abiding in Your Word. May Your Word bear fruit in her life so she will continue to grow in grace, spiritual maturity, and godliness. I pray that You will continue to use her life to inspire other women to pursue godliness and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Father in heaven, I pray for Your comfort and mercy upon [name of the person], who is going through something difficult. Remind her, even now, that Your mercies are new every morning and that Your goodness and lovingkindness always follow her. Give her the strength and grace she needs as she faces each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as she goes to work today, I pray that You will keep the woman I love safe and sound. Give her the grace she needs today and the strength to face whatever work she will have to handle. Keep her from any sicknesses; I pray for good health to always be upon her. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Seeking her good is just one of the many things you can pray for the woman you love. You can use and pray Bible verses for her such as in the second prayer example. You can pray for the things that you hope for her. If there are things that she is thanking God for, you can also thank God with her in prayers. We may pray many different prayers for the woman we love, but the bottom point of it is the kind of love we have for her—a love that seeks her good.
