Bible Verses For The Brokenhearted

Bible verses for the brokenhearted bring comfort and relief. There is no one on this planet who is immune from having a broken heart. This fallen world of ours is full of heartbreaking events and situations that can make us feel devastated. Even the ones we love most can cause us sadness and sorrow. Being heartbroken causes us pain, and such pain can grow enormously to devour all the joy that is within us. A broken heart may be brought on by numerous causes, such as the loss of a job, failures in your studies, loss of possessions, bankruptcy, sickness, betrayal, disappointment, or even the death of someone you truly cherish. However, a broken heart can also be healed if we turn to God’s word and put our faith in what He has to say when we feel shattered by grief.

Many physicians or psychologists assert that hope lies in medication, therapy, or psychoanalysis. You can also find people who take antidepressant drugs just to feel better. Some would advise you to just go out and do whatever makes you happy. They might give you pieces of advice on how to practice more positive thinking. People will even tell you that the cure for a broken heart is “time.” Most of these worldly recommendations are focused on your feelings. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t. The sure thing is that the remedies of this world cannot certainly and totally mend a broken heart. The only way for us to completely repair our broken hearts is through the Word of God. There is no better way for us to lift a heavy heart than by reading the Word of God.

Bible verses for the brokenhearted can truly heal us, as the Word of God is alive and active. It cuts between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires (For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12). While the world focuses on healing your feelings, God is more focused on renewing yourself. God not only heals brokenhearted people but also bandages their wounds (He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalm 147:3). It is God’s will to recover your heart and bring it back to its merry and untroubled state. What makes God the best healer is that He does more than stitch broken hearts; He replaces them with new hearts ( A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26). This new heart of yours will now beat for things that truly matter. The new beating of your heart pumps praise and worship throughout your system. Your new heart will yearn for the courts of the Lord and sing for joy to the living God. Your heart will jump and shout for joy, such that you will be able to forget all the worries and pains that life has given you.

Bible Verses for the Brokenhearted

How do you heal a broken heart? By putting your trust in God and knowing that He is your help (The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Psalm 28:7). You do it by knowing what Jesus did for you on the cross. Jesus suffered from the most heartbreaking situation ever when He was nailed to the cross. It was so heartbreaking that He cried, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” ( And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Mark 15:34). Yet in His heart, He never let go of His faith to the Father. He was faithful to the end. What happened next? He was taken up into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19). By putting your faith in Christ, your present sufferings will not be worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to us. This is a promise, and you must hold tightly to this. Ponder these Bible verses for the brokenhearted, and let God be your ultimate source of comfort and healing.
