A Christmas Prayer on Grace

Christmas is a great time to be reminded of God’s greatest gift to us, the Lord Jesus Christ, through which grace and truth comes to us. We have received God’s unlimited grace because of what Jesus Christ has done. No longer do we need to earn approval and perform sacrifices to be approved, be cleansed, and be made righteous in the eyes of God because, by faith, we have been justified by the blood of Jesus Christ. All we need to do now is simply be led by the Holy Spirit, to obey the LORD’s commands, and pray that He is always with us, no matter what. So what is a good Christmas prayer of grace? You can begin by simply being thankful to the Father for the love, grace, and goodness through Jesus Christ, as Christmas celebrates the birth and life of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. You can pray A Christmas Prayer on Grace in this manner:

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending to us Your only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. His birth and His life are our greatest blessings, not only this Christmas, but at all times. Thank You for the grace of salvation, justification, and redemption through the blood of Jesus. We are no longer slaves to sin, but we have become children of God. I pray that this Christmas, people are reminded of this message of grace and love through the birth and life of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending to us Your only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. His birth and His life are our greatest blessings, not only this Christmas, but at all times.

How do you start a Christmas prayer?

When praying to the Father, whether it is Christmas, the New Year, a funeral service, Sunday service, or any other celebration, you must always start prayer in reverence and praise, giving glory and honor to the name of our God. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, He began to pray in this manner: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…” (see Matthew 6:9-13). Jesus began the prayer by revering God and praising His name. Thus, to start a Christmas prayer, you can start by saying:

Heavenly Father, I praise You and honor You for making this day a joyous moment to remember the birth of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ…

You can also say, Dear God, I bless You and praise You for all your goodness, love, and grace through the Lord Jesus Christ…

Jesus wants His believers to first and foremost acknowledge who God is in our lives before we begin to lay out our requests and petitions. It is a form of respect and reverence, and it sets our mind to a prayer full of faith as we focus more on who God is, His goodness, His greatness, His love, etc., rather than jumping right away to the things we need or our particular concerns.

Besides acknowledging who God is, praising and magnifying His name, you can also start your prayer by declaring a praise Scripture or Bible verse. This is also a powerful way to pray, because you are decreeing and speaking the very will of God, which is His Word.

Here are some praise Scriptures based on Psalms that can be a good start for a Christmas prayer:

1. Psalm 9:1

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.

2. Psalm 95:1-3

3. Psalm 7:17

I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.

4. Psalm 106:1

Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

5. Psalm 107:21-22

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

6. Psalm 100:4-5

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations

7. Psalm 118:1
