How To Pray For The Upcoming Election

God commands us to make prayers, intercessions, and supplications for all people. Suppose the nation is about to have its election. As the nation is about to elect and re-elect its leaders, remember that whatever happens in the election, and no matter who gets elected, God remains sovereign over the country. Whoever gets elected president, God is not surprised with the result of that candidate becoming president. In Daniel 2:21, Daniel tells us of God’s sovereignty regarding the nations. God changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and removes them. Even if the president or elected officials are not perfect in their leadership, God in His sovereignty can still use them to accomplish His purpose. Nothing can thwart His sovereign decree. If we want godly leadership for our nation, we must pray for those leaders to know Christ. You can pray these things for whomever ends up winning the election.

Psalm 33:12

Father in heaven, You hear every prayer I pray and you commanded us to pray and intercede for our government and its leaders. I pray for whoever wins the election to lead with wisdom and excellence.
