A Bicyclist Prayer

As our Heavenly Father, God is always involved in the affairs and activities of His children on earth. Whether you are a working professional, a student, a minister, an artist, or anything else, God is always in partnership with us. Even in our hobbies, such as cooking, fixing cars, bicycling, or jogging, the Heavenly Father always watches us in Christ Jesus.

You may be wondering what kind of prayer you can offer to God when you do certain activities, like biking, which is why you are here! First, I want you to know that God is so proud of you, and He is pleased that you seek ways to communicate with Him.

Here is an example of an active prayer:

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me. Thank You for protecting me from accidents and letting me enjoy nature’s beauty as I ride with Your presence. You provide me with peace, security, and serenity, which truly matters. I am secured knowing that I have You who takes care of all my needs, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

It can be as simple as that, or you can converse with Him as you would to a friend:

“How are you, God? Thank You for this fine weather! I know You are always here with me! I have this concern about….”

Prayer is simply talking to God the way you might speak to your best friend. Whatever the contents of your heart, you can let them out to the LORD as you do your activity. You can pray to God for protection, concern for your family, provisions, and anything else that comes to mind. He hears your prayers in faith and all transparency, and He is pleased to receive your prayers.

Here are some Scriptures that you can meditate on, even as you do your biking activity:

1. Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

2. Matthew 6:25-26

Therefore, I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not life more than meat, and the body more than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

3. Psalm 91

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

4. Numbers 6:24-26

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

5. Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

How do you bless a bike?

Some Christians practice the blessing of houses, cars and businesses, like restaurants or shops, and may even bless a bike in faith that the LORD will bless, guide, protect and be part of their lives in such aspects. If you are wondering how a blessing is done, it is simply through the prayer of blessing. Here is an example:

Heavenly Father, thank You for providing my bike and blessing me with one. Thank You for, as I ride and use it, Your hand of protection, peace, guidance, and blessing upon me. I get to enjoy Your presence as I ride my bike with You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

Or you can also pray in this manner:

Heavenly Father, I speak Your blessing and Your presence over my bike in the name of Jesus. Thank You for keeping me safe from harm and all kinds of accidents as I ride my bike because Your presence is with me wherever I go. I look forward to riding with You and having adventures with You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

You only need to pray this once, and you don’t have to worry about your bike while riding on it every day, as God always watches over you, blessing you and keeping you safe from harm in Christ Jesus.

How do you encourage a cyclist?

Bicycling is not just about the fun and the riding, but also meeting new people, friends and making great memories. As a Christian, you are God’s salt and light amidst the diverse bikers with different backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, and upbringing. You are His vessel of peace, encouragement, truth, and love that will one day point them to Christ.

Do you know a cyclist going through some tough times or who needs some encouragement? There are many ways to encourage a cyclist who may be going through challenges in life. You may need to uplift or push them.

Your presence alone is an encouragement when you make yourself available to someone else’s hard times in life. Sometimes, people only want companionship and not words of advice; you can also provide a listening ear when they start opening up about their problems. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in encouraging a fellow cyclist and trust in His promptings.

Here are some Bible verses about encouragement that may give you wisdom in times of need:

1. Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

This Scripture is an excellent reminder that we can guard our hearts and minds through Christ by praying to God about everything that concerns us. We receive God’s peace when we choose to surrender and lay it all at His feet.

2. John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

This Scripture is also a great reminder that the Lord Jesus Christ suffered many things yet overcame them; He tells us that we too can overcome any trials in Him.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

3. Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 can be a great encouragement when we find ourselves stumbling through the wrong things, mistakes, unintentional errors, and everything we knew should not have happened. It says that God can work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. God is always able, and nothing is too hard for Him. He can make every test into a testimony, and any mess into a beautiful message of His glory and goodness.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

4. Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

This Scripture is a great encouragement when facing fears, discouragement, and all sorts of lies and doubts the enemy may throw your way. God’s Word says that He is with us, and He will help us make it through the trials.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

5. Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 is a great reminder that we should not rely on our thinking and perception of things. We must always run to God, engage His wisdom, and lean on His Word more than our own understanding; when we acknowledge Him in all things, everything else falls into place.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

6. Joshua 1:9

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:9 is another strong encouragement when facing discouragement and fear. God promises that wherever we go, He is with us. It provides such peace and security knowing that we are not alone because God is walking beside us. We do not have to face life alone.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

7. Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

This Scripture is a great encouragement and a declaration of God’s promise of hope, joy, and peace abounding through the Holy Spirit.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

8. Philippians 2:3-4

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

This Scripture can be a great reminder when faced with difficult people and situations. It tells us that we should take our eyes off ourselves and start seeing what others genuinely need. Mostly, difficult people need great help, and we lose sight of that the moment we focus on our feelings and our own needs. When we regard others more than ourselves, we start to see the truth clearly, and we begin to walk in God’s love and compassion.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

9. 1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:6-7 is an excellent reminder that we humble ourselves by magnifying the Lord when we feel down. We look unto Him and cast everything that makes us anxious because He cares for us. And in due time, He will lift us from our situations and exalt us according to His plan and purpose.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.

A Bicyclist Prayer

10. Isaiah 41:13

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Isaiah 41:13 is a powerful encouragement when facing fears of any kind because God promised He would hold our hands and help us in all things. We don’t have to fear anything when He is with us, and He will help us in our situations.

These are some Scriptures you can use to encourage a fellow cyclist. When they start opening up about a problem or confessing their worries and fears, it is your opportunity to minister and shine the light of Christ on them. Lend an ear to listen first and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in encouraging them.

May God be glorified through your life, even as you ride your bike in Jesus’ wonderful name. Amen.

Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given me.
