Few experiences are as stressful and frightening to families as learning that a loved one has cancer. This is especially true if the cancer is one which has a low survival rate. To have the words to offer comfort to the person can be overwhelming. Turning to the words of scripture for encouragement and peace is a response that never fails. Here are a few healing scriptures for cancer patients.

Anyone with a serious illness can gain comfort and healing by going to the words of scriptures. Some are even able to find physical healing through the power of the words of God. At a minimum, there is spiritual and emotional healing as we turn our problems and concerns over to God. He has provided words of comfort and encouragement. The great Healer knows every part of our bodies, since He created each of us. He can comfort the mind and heal the body when we continue to believe in Him.

Understanding why we or a loved one has been afflicted with diseases such as cancer may be difficult. As believers, we can find peace in clinging to God’s promises found in the Bible. We may not be able to understand why, but we can rest in the promise that He will be with us through all of our trials and troubles. God is our healer and I have seen cancer patients get healed.

The healing qualities of Bible texts are not magical, but they are real and can be claimed by any child of God. We always can reach out to God in our troubles and He has promised comfort. The emotional healing may affect the spread of cancer. At a minimum, reaching for comfort from God will have the benefit of ensuring peace of mind through all of our trials.

Peace of mind is healing in and of itself. A person who is afflicted with a serious health issue can claim the promises of God to always be with him or her. We do not need to go through trials and concerns alone. Whether we are surrounded by human friends or alone, God is always present.
