A Bedtime Prayer to Restore Your soul

Unfortunately, the pains and hurts that we experience throughout our lives are something we feel not just physically but also emotionally. The soul of a person can also be hurt. As we live throughout our day, we may encounter things that hurt our souls. It could be that a fellow brother/sister in Christ did something that has hurt you deeply, or your girlfriend/boyfriend decided to break up with you for some reason (such things do happen, even among Christians). Whether our souls are hurt during our day or throughout our life experiences, we should pray for the soul.

Here is one of the ways you can pray for your soul:

Father, I thank You because You are the restorer of my soul. You make the broken whole, and You turn ashes into beauty. I thank You because You are the God Who comforts me and knows every pain and hurt that I have. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Father, I thank You because You are the restorer of my soul.

A Bedtime Prayer to Restore Your soul

What are prayers for restoration?

From the phrase itself, prayers for restoration are basically praying for something that’s missing in our lives to be restored. That usually means praying for something that has been broken—you don’t restore what is not broken. If it’s someone’s heart that is broken, we pray for God to make them whole (restored) again.

Father, I thank You, for You are near to the brokenhearted. Your presence as I go through this season of pain is something that comforts me. I thank You because Your love is steadfast no matter what season I am in. Heal me, Lord, and bind up my wounds. Give me the grace to forgive those who have hurt me, so I can let go of my bitterness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Father, I thank You because You are the restorer of my soul.

A Bedtime Prayer to Restore Your soul

The prayer above is a prayer you can pray for restoring your soul as you go through a season of pain and hardship. It is based on Psalm 147:3 and Psalm 136:1, where it is written:

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

Can God restore a broken family?

Of course, He can! There are many testimonies of families that were brought to Christ and restored as a result of that. Only Christ can ultimately restore what was broken. A broken family is assumed to be a family of non-believers or one in which not all members are in Christ. The primary thing you can pray for is that they will surrender their lives to Christ because only this way can a family be truly restored.

Here is a prayer of restoration that you can pray for your family or someone else’s:

Father, I pray for this family that You would work in them to turn hardened hearts into hearts of flesh—so that their members may receive the gift of salvation offered by Christ through His work on the cross and so that they will also repent from their sins and live a life of obedience to You. I pray that You will restore our family. I pray that love and laughter will once again be present in the home and that we will live in peace and unity despite one another’s differences. I thank You, Lord, because You restore the years that the locusts have eaten. Only You can work on our hearts, God. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

The Gospel has accounts of several broken people who, when they encountered Christ, were restored. Mary Magdalene is one example. Through Christ, she was restored. That also means that there are times when we are broken because of our sin. Surely, God restores us, but we also have to repent. Mary Magdalene repented by leaving her life of sin after she encountered Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Father, I thank You because You are the restorer of my soul.

A Bedtime Prayer to Restore Your soul

In this world, where we encounter trials and tribulations that sometimes hurt us, we know that we can get through it all because Christ is our shepherd as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Christ is the one who restores and refreshes our souls.
