A Birthday Celebrant Prayer

Today, as you celebrate your birthday, you want God to be part of it by seeking what kind of prayer you can offer Him. 

Celebrating the day you were born is an excellent reminder of God’s goodness, grace, and faithfulness. He has yet again given you another chance to live in Christ Jesus. Here is an example of a birthday celebrant’s prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me another year to live and celebrate my birthday with my loved ones. Your kindness, faithfulness, and love never end, and I am truly blessed to have You in my life. You are my greatest Gift, and I pray that You continue to bless me, keep me, and make Your face shine upon me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

A birthday can be a special occasion because it honors one’s life and is an excellent opportunity to reunite with friends, be together with loved ones, and even take a day off to do self-care and love. It is a once-a-year event when you can do something for yourself, and God desires for His children to treat and care for themselves the way He does because when you know how to love and honor yourself well, this is how you will truly learn to treat and care for others. Jesus said to love your neighbor as you love yourself (see Matthew 22:39).

What is a good birthday blessing?

A good birthday blessing can be a prayer. How will you pray to God about your birthday, or what should you say to Him when someone is celebrating a birthday? Here are some approaches when you want to pray a good birthday blessing to the Father:

1. Think about all the good things He has done and given to you this year. What are those gifts? You can begin by thanking Him as the Holy Spirit puts you in remembrance of the goodness and faithfulness of God in your life, such as being surrounded by good friends and family throughout the year. This way, you honor Him with your life and appreciate His goodness and all the things He has done.

2. Also, say your prayers with all sincerity and truthfulness. It is best to say what is real in your heart. If you are swelling with gratitude and thankfulness for another year, tell it to the LORD:

LORD, thank You so much for another year in my life. Thank You for allowing me to live and experience Your goodness here on earth. I pray that You continue to bless me, my family, and my friends. May Your will be done through me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

3. Another way that you can pray as you celebrate your birthday is by praying a favorite verse or promise scripture in the Bible:

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me another year to celebrate my birthday and embark upon the earth with Your Spirit. I am confident that You will complete the good work You have begun in my life until the day Jesus Christ returns. I am secured and full of assurance through Your promises in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

A birthday blessing is simply about receiving all of God’s goodness for your life. He is the Source of blessings, protection, guidance, wisdom, favors, and all the good things in life. You just come before Him and connect with His Spirit through His Word and by praying to Him and worshipping Him. It is a great day, not just to celebrate the day you were born but also to celebrate the One who formed and made you in your mother’s womb—fearfully and wonderfully.

What is a good Bible verse for a birthday?

Many scriptures in the Bible can be good declarations for a birthday. Here are some Bible verses that would make a good prayer and declaration:  

1. Psalm 71:6

By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You.

2. 3 John 1:2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

3. Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

4. Psalm 118:24

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

5. Psalm 16:11

You can declare and receive many more scriptures for your birthday. When you pray the Word of God, you can expect a fruitful and blessed year ahead because you have honored the One Who gave you life. You also speak what His Word says, and God’s Word always manifests because it does not return to Him in vain.
