A Firefighter’s Wife Prayer

As a firefighter’s wife, there are times when you will obviously worry about your husband. A firefighter’s job, after all, is a dangerous one. Firefighters are the bravest servicemen that we have. If there is a fire, whether big or small, people instinctively run away from it. Firefighters, on the other hand, run towards it to save anyone who may be trapped by the fire. That means you should pray for your husband to have the wisdom and grace he needs as he does his job. Holy Spirit, I pray for You to give my husband the boldness and courage to preach the Gospel to his workmates and even his superiors. Give him the grace to never be ashamed of the Gospel, for the Father’s power of salvation is open to anyone who believes. Give him the opportunity to preach the Gospel to the people he helps. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

If your husband is not yet a Christian, the most important thing you can pray for him is not his safety on the job, but his eternal safety in Christ. In other words, you want him to repent and believe in the Gospel of Christ. Given that your husband’s line of work is dangerous, all the more, you should preach the Gospel to him and pray that he will repent and commit to following Jesus. Father in heaven, I pray for You to turn the hardened heart of my husband to a heart of flesh and that You will open his spiritually blinded eyes so that he may repent and believe in Christ. What does the Bible say about firefighters?

While the Bible does not contain specific verses about firefighters, there are Bible verses you can use to encourage your husband. One is from Matthew 5:13-16, where it is written:
