A Prayer for Divine Protection

Protection is a promise of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. When we seek and ask for His divine covering and protection, His Word can be trusted and can protect us from harm and against the enemy’s plans. You may be seeking a good prayer for divine protection or wondering how you ask God for protection. You can pray for divine protection in this manner:

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify Your name. Thank You for the covering and protection that keeps me, my family, my ministry, business, and all that matters to me safe from the enemy’s plans and protected against the work of evil. I don’t have to worry or fear about tomorrow because I am secured and fully trust in Your faithfulness, in Christ Jesus’ name. Amen.

Another way that you can pray for God’s divine protection is by looking into the Scriptures about God’s protection and declaring it or praying the Scriptures. Here is an example based on Psalm 91:11 and Isaiah 54:17:

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify Your name.

A Prayer for Divine Protection

Heavenly Father, thank You for covering and protecting my life. Thank You for sending Your angels to watch over me and keep me safe from harm. No weapon formed against me shall prosper because You give me discernment through the Holy Spirit. You show me ahead of time all the enemy’s plans, and I give all the praises and glory to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify Your name.

A Prayer for Divine Protection

In the Bible, we can see many stories of how God faithfully protected His people, even without them asking Him to. For instance, in the story of Elisha in 2 Kings 6:8-14, God revealed to Elisha the plans of their enemies, even the conversations from the bedroom of king Aram. As a result, the plans of Israel’s enemies failed because God was protecting them from harm by revealing the plans of their enemies through the prophet Elisha. As God’s children, we are secure in knowing that our Heavenly Father always looks after us, ensuring we are safe from harm. It is our responsibility to trust in Him fully and to obey His Word.

What is a good Bible verse for protection?

God’s promises of protection are numerous in the Scriptures. He often reminded His people, exhorted them, and encouraged them not to be afraid and to trust in Him and His divine protection. Here are some Bible verses about the protection of God for His people:

  1. Psalm 91:14-16

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

  1. Psalm 91:9-13

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

  1. Exodus 14:14

The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

These are just some of the Bible verses about God’s promise of protection, but there are many more Scriptures about God’s divine protection, helping you to seek His Word and be guided by the Holy Spirit. You do not have to worry about Satan, nor the enemy’s works and schemes through the people around you, because when God is for you, who can be against you? Simply trust in Him who is able to keep you safe from harm and the Holy Spirit who prompts you and gives you discernment to know the difference between good and evil.

Does God protect me from my enemies?

As a child of God in Christ Jesus, God promises protection and deliverance to His people. God promises to deliver His people from the works of the enemy and protect us against its schemes through the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who helps us in our Christian walk.

Our true enemies are not of flesh and blood, but rather the unseen evil spirits that influence the minds and hearts of the undiscerning, the worldly, and those who do not have the Spirit of God. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify Your name.

On the other hand, Jesus Christ commanded us to love our enemies. These enemies are those who hate you, persecute you, curse you, use you, falsely accuse you, and so on. He said in Matthew 5:44-48 that you are to bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use and persecute you. By doing this, you are truly walking as a child of God, for the Heavenly Father causes his sun to rise for the good and evil and sends rain to both the just and the unjust. We are not battling against people, but against the principalities, the spiritual evil forces in the heavenly realms.

We will be in constant spiritual warfare here on earth until Jesus Christ returns. That’s why we must guard our hearts and minds with the Word of God by meditating on it daily and making time to study and discern the perfect will of God. The more you read His Word, the more you become discerning between His voice and what is not His, which is vital for His divine protection to work. For instance, if you do not know that God’s will is to love, pray for and to bless your enemies when they persecute you, hate you, curse you, and so on, you might fight back and curse them too, causing you to fall into different traps from the true enemy—the devil.

It is God’s perfect will to protect you from the works of the enemy, and it is also His command to renew your mind daily and not to conform to the patterns of this world by meditating, studying, and obeying His Word.

How do you pray against your enemies?

In the Gospel, when Jesus was rejected many times by people from different towns as He went to minister, His disciples said, “Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up?” He rebuked His disciples. This is a reminder that we do not ask God to curse people who hate us, persecute us, or scheme against us, nor do we wish for something bad to happen to them, because this is not from the Spirit of God. Instead, we are to intercede on their behalf that the salvation of Christ, the encounter of the Father’s love, and the Holy Spirit will come upon them and touch them.

When you are facing all kinds of spiritual attacks and warfare, the only way to walk in the victory of Christ and win the battle you are facing is by living a lifestyle of surrender unto the LORD and praying without ceasing.

So how do you pray against your enemies? The best way to pray against the demonic spirits and pray for your enemies is by declaring the perfect will of God, which is what is written in the Scriptures.

Here are some Bible verses to declare against the works of Satan in your life, along with sample prayers that may serve as your guide:

  1. Isaiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

In Jesus’ name, no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment I condemn! This is my heritage as a servant of the LORD, and my righteousness in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify Your name.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

In Jesus’ name, I rebuke any stealing, killing, and destroying done by the enemy in my life! I receive the promise of life and the abundance of living in Christ Jesus. Amen.

  1. Psalm 23:5-6

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Thank You Jesus for preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, and my cup never runs dry. Your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.  Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise You and glorify Your name.

  1. Psalm 91:3-7

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Thank You, Father, for You save me from the fowler’s snare and deadly pestilence. You cover me and my family with Your feathers, and under Your wings, we find refuge. Your faithfulness is a shield, and I am not afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrows that fly by day; not even the pestilence that lurks in darkness or any plagues will frighten me, for You promised that these things would not come near my family and me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

As you pray for God’s divine protection against the work of the enemies in your life, may the LORD continue to bless you and your loved ones, and may you remain faithful and strong in the LORD until the day Christ Jesus returns, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
