A Daily Prayer for Every Day

A day without prayer is like having a car without the gasoline to make it work. As believers, prayers are vital because they are our connection to the One who breathes life into our soul every day. Daily meditation on the Word of God renews our mind, while connecting with the LORD every day in our quiet moments allows us to continue living the new life that Christ Jesus has given. So, how do you say a daily prayer to God? What do you say when you connect to Him in your prayer time every day? There are many things you can pray to God for every day. It may depend on the specifics of your situation, requests, and so on. You can pray to Him about your family, your job, your spouse, your children, about a particular concern, about a specific need, and so much more. For instance, you want to pray for your children’s safety every day. With that in mind, you can pray in this manner:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my children. As they go to school each day, I know that Your hand of protection is upon them. You keep their path safe from harm, and you give them discernment from evil company. Bless them in their studies, and give them the wisdom and strength they need to accomplish their tasks. Thank You, Father, for your goodness in their life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You may also pray for different things for your children every day, but that doesn’t have to be about protection all the time, because God already knows your heart. As you partner with the Holy Spirit about what to pray for daily, you’ll be surprised at how He leads you, reveals to you, and even summons Scriptures to your mind that you need to pray and declare. For instance, the Holy Spirit put to your mind Isaiah 41:10, which says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” You can pray this Scripture over your family in this way:

Heavenly Father, thank You for keeping my family’s faith strong in You. The spirit of fear does not rest in my house or my family members because we trust in You. You strengthen each of us daily and help us in our times of need. You uphold us with Your righteous right hand. I praise You and magnify You for all that You are, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

How do I pray for my daily life?

Depending on your specific situation and request, there are many ways to pray for your daily life. Sometimes, if you don’t know what to pray for, you may declare a Scripture over your life or focus on thanksgiving and praise to God. As the Holy Spirit leads you in prayer, know that God’s Spirit is always there to help you in your prayers. Sometimes, you may not know what to pray for, but the Bible says that the Holy Spirit will help you and intercede for you, even when you don’t know what to pray for. Even with just a deep sigh or wordless tear, the Holy Spirit knows the deep things of your heart, and He relays all those prayers to God. You are not alone in your prayer time, as the Helper is always there for you.

Here are some Bible verses that can be good prayers of daily declaration for your life:

  1. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

  1. Philippians 4:19

But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

  1. Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

  1. Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  1. Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

  1. 1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  1. 2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

How do you pray a simple prayer?

A simple prayer for every day can be a general or specific prayer. It can also consist of adoration, thanksgiving, and praise to God, which makes for powerful prayer. As you offer God daily thanks, to fix your eyes upon Him and magnify Him, His peace guards your mind and heart in Christ Jesus. As Philippians 4:6-7 says, Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Here is a simple prayer of thanksgiving and adoration to God:

Heavenly Father, thank You for always being there for me. You never leave me or forsake me, and in my times of need, You are always there. You make me feel secure in all life situations, and I can always depend on You. You never fail to amaze me and surprise me. I am blessed to have known You, and may my soul bless You, LORD, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Furthermore, you can also have simple conversations with God each day; this too is considered a prayer. Whether you are doing laundry, washing dishes, cleaning the house, or on a break at work, you can talk to God like a friend and tell Him how your day was: “Lord, can You give me strength? I am tired today from my work,” or you can say, “God, I have this concern in my heart regarding this matter….” You can talk to God as you would to a friend, which is also a simple prayer. Whatever is on your mind and in your heart, you can openly say it to God, and He will give you wisdom, strength, and everything you need.

As you pray daily to God, know that your prayers are powerful because the One listening to your prayers is faithful, trustworthy, and true to His Word and promises.
