How To Pray For My Pets

Pets are not just animals but part of the family. Anyone with pets at home will show love and care for their pets as much as they do for their fellow human beings, including praying for them. It isn’t unusual that we should want to pray for our pets. After all, they are a part of our lives that has brought us so much joy because of their existence. And we trust that as we pray to God, He hears us and answers the requests of our hearts, even when it comes to our pets. Philippians 4:6 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

You can say a prayer for your pets in this manner:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets. Thank You, for they bring joy to my life and help ease any stresses of the day. I pray that You always keep my pets healthy and keep them from illnesses, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God loves all His creations, including animals, whether as livestock or pets. Jesus Christ even told us this in Matthew 6:26. “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”

If Heavenly Father cares for the sparrows and feeds them every day, how much more would He do for your pets, which are valuable to you? Whatever matters to you matters to God because you are His child. And caring for your pets shows you are walking according to God’s image and likeness in Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets.

How To Pray For My Pets

Will God accept prayers for pets?

Praying for your pets is no different from praying for your business, your family, a breakthrough, and financial provision. Philippians 4:6 says to let your requests be made known unto God. This means any request that’s in your heart, you may pray to God.

Thus, God will surely hear and accept prayers for your pets. You may even lay your hands upon them when they are sick and declare God’s healing power in the name of Jesus. Jesus said, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give (Matthew 10:8).” So, when your pet is sick, lay your hand upon it and declare healing in Jesus’ name. If your pet is dying, and you have the faith to raise it back to life, Jesus said to raise the dead! When you pray for your pets, care for them, and love them, you are taking dominion as God intended mankind to do. Genesis 1:26 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Know that God listens to all the requests of our hearts. He can work miracles, not just in humans but even in your pets, all other animals, weather, etc. John 21:25 says, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”

What Bible verse can I read about pets?

Since we have already discussed that God cares and loves animals as much as He loves human beings, here are more Bible verses that you can read about pets:

1. Proverbs 12:10

“A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.”

This Bible verse reveals to us that one of the characteristics of a righteous person is their kindness toward animals. When you love, care, and provide for the needs of your pets, you are walking in righteousness, according to God’s image and likeness in Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets.

2. Genesis 1:21

“And God created great whales and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

This Bible verse shows us God is the Creator of all kinds of creatures, including your pets. God considers such creations as good, and He was glad that He made them. Pets are blessings because God says such creations of His are good.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets.

3. Luke 12:6

“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?”

This Bible verse reveals that God knows every creature He makes. Even when sparrows are sold, He knows and remembers each one of them. You can say that God knows your pets too, whether they are dogs, cats, fish, horses, etc. And every animal in this world is precious to God, for He remembers each one of them.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets.

4. Job 12:7-10

“But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.”

These Bible verses show us a revelation that all the non-speaking creations of God when given a chance to speak can testify to the world Whose they are, Who made them, and Who is the Lord. They can even teach human beings about this when given a chance. Thus, we can say that when you talk to your pets about God, they understand it and know their Creator. They would probably teach you more things about Him if they could speak.

5. Psalm 50:10-11

“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.”

These Bible verses tell us that all animals belong to God. It is God taking ownership of all His creations, and you can say that your pets too belong to God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets.

6. Proverbs 27:23

“Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks and look well to thy herds.”

This Bible verse commands us that we are to look after our pets and the animals under our care. It is a command from God to take care of the animals.

As you read the Bible with the Holy Spirit, He will highlight more scriptures that reveal God’s wonderful thoughts about animals and pets.

Keep loving and caring for your pets because this is the righteous thing to do. It is a command from God. Isn’t it wonderful to know that your pets are as precious to God as they are to you?

God bless you and bless your pets in Christ Jesus!

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of my pets.
