A Prayer For Thanking God For Answered Prayer

Nothing can effectively impact and increase our faith in God than having your prayers answered. As you pray specific prayers in your secret place, and God answers them, it will blow your mind and make you say, “I know that this is because of You, God. Thank You!” Every doubt and lie will leave your mind because your heart will instead be filled with thanksgiving to the Father, who alone knows your requests and is faithful in answering your prayers.

As you are here looking for a prayer to thank God for an answered prayer, we rejoice with you, and we thank God for answering what you have been praying for. You can say a prayer of gratitude in this manner:

Abba Father, thank You so much for answering my prayer. My heart is overflowing with joy and gratitude as I witness Your faithfulness in this specific area of my life. I praise You and give You all the glory for who You are. Thank You, and I love You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Abba Father, thank You so much for answering my prayer.

A Prayer For Thanking God for Answered Prayer

God answering our prayers is His way of proving His existence and power to us, along with His faithfulness and revealing who He is in our lives. We can find countless testimonies of encounters with God and the miraculous works of Jesus Christ that changed many people’s lives; some were first written in the Bible and still continue today in our lives. You are here as a witness when God answers your prayers.

We are so blessed because our God lives and is alive in us. He continues to do marvelous works in our lives and patiently guides us so that our faith will continue to increase until the day Jesus Christ returns.

As Psalm 95:1-3 says, “O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.”

How can I show gratitude for God’s answered prayer?

Aside from saying a prayer thanking God for answering your prayer, there are other ways to show Him gratitude. Do note, however, that even if there are unanswered prayers in your life, you must continue to live in thanksgiving before the Father and constantly seek to respect heaven’s perspectives, even in the face of difficulties and challenges in life. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

This shows that your faith is genuine, and nothing pleases God more than when His children are thankful in all of life’s circumstances.

Here are some ways to show gratitude to God for answering your prayer:

1. Read your Bible and spend time with the Holy Spirit

We know that the only way to truly know and understand God deeply is through the Scriptures. A person who truly wants to know God will read the Bible, not because it is a responsibility or rule in Christianity, but because they want to know their Father’s heart through Jesus Christ. Thus, you can show your gratitude to Him by spending more time getting to know Him and His ways through reading and studying your Bible. Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

2. Show the same grace and kindness to others

When God answers our prayers, it is His way of increasing our faith and showing us His faithfulness and grace. One way to show gratitude to God is by doing the same to others—extending this grace and kindness to others when they are also in need and are reaching out for help. Jesus Christ said, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you” (John 15:12).

3. Set your affections on heavenly things

When our affections are set on Christ and His heavenly things, it only reveals how serious we are in our walk with Him. God wants us to know Him more by showing us His faithfulness and kindness through answered prayers so that our heart’s affection will be focused on Christ. His kindness is meant to lead us to repentance (see Romans 2:4). Colossians 3:1-2 says, If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

4. Constantly live in praise and thanksgiving unto God in all circumstances

As mentioned earlier, whether times are good or bad, whether God has answered your prayers or not, remaining thankful to Him at all times is the genuine gratitude He is looking for. It is His perfect will for us to be thankful and joyful in all circumstances. As 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Why are some of my prayers not yet answered by God?

As the saying goes, if God answers your prayers, He is increasing your faith; if there are delays, He is increasing your patience; if God says no, He has something better planned for you.

God not answering some of your prayers is as great a blessing in your life as when He answers them. Why? Because our God is a good God, and there is no doubt that when He says “No,” or “Wait,” it is always for the best, and He has something better in mind that you may not yet see.

We can trust that whatever the Father does with regard to our prayers, it is always for the best. Moreover, continue to pray without ceasing. Jesus Christ said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).

God bless you, and may you continue to praise Him for many more answered (and unanswered) prayers in your life, according to His will through Christ Jesus.
