Fixing Your Eyes on Eternal Things

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

2 Cor 4:17-18

God wants us to always fix our eyes on Him, so that we may see what He sees and do what He does. He does not want you to worry over problems, troubles and situations in life, for these things are temporary and will not last long. 1 Corinthians 4:17-18 reminds us that we must fix our sight on things that cannot be seen, for such things are eternal and will last forever. When you fix your eyes on Jesus and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit, and when you prioritize God above everything else, you can be sure that whatever cares and desires of the heart you possess, God will handle them for you. As you seek God first, His kingdom and righteousness, despite your present troubles, everything else will follow.

As you come to God in prayer, simply surrender at His feet every trouble and worry that’s bothering you. Declare Your faith in Him who is faithful. Praise and glorify the goodness of Your Heavenly Father, who knows your every need and desire. Thank Him for allowing the Holy Spirit to empower you to see the way God sees and obey what He is telling you to do. As you fix your gaze on what is eternal, God will not fail in taking care of you.
