Magnifying the Beauty of the LORD

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.”

Psalm 27:4

Whenever you feel distracted along the way in the race of faith, God wants you to shift your focus from distractions to His presence. The enemy wants you to look at your situation, your weaknesses, your enemies, and at what is “wrong”, but God wants you to seek Him out and receive His peace as you gaze upon His beauty and meditate on His power and faithfulness.

Psalm 27:4 says “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.”

In order for you to keep going in the race of faith, your eyes must always gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and stay focused on who He is and what He is going to do, not on what is going on around you. Dwelling in the presence of God and meditating on His goodness protects your mind from the lies of the enemy and keeps you immovable, no matter what is going on around you

.

God’s desire for all His children is to simply stay connected to His heart, so that He may wrap His arms around us and keep us safe and secure in the race of faith. As you pray to God tonight, filled with the desire to focus your eyes on Jesus, simply declare Psalm 27:4. Magnify the beauty of our God; thank Him and praise Him for all the things He has done and all that He is yet to do in your life.
