A Children’s Bedtime Prayer

Hello there! Praying before you go to sleep is a good thing, but remember, you pray because you want to talk to God and not because it is something that your mom or dad told you to do. Praying is an important thing to do as a child of God because it is how you talk to your Father in heaven.

What is a good prayer to say before bed?

Praying before you sleep is one good way to tell God about what happened throughout your day. You can tell God what happened at school or when you were playing with your friends. You can tell God about the challenges you faced in your day. You can also tell God about the times when someone hurt you or made you cry. Remember that God is your heavenly Father. You are His child; you can tell your Father anything and pour it out to Him as you go to sleep.

Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

You can also thank Your Heavenly Father for everything He did for you throughout the day. You were able to eat because God provided for you. You were safe and sound because He was protecting you from evil and danger. You were also able to do well and learn some things at school because God gave you His grace. If your day was not so good, then you can pray to God to ask Him for grace and strength as you go to school tomorrow. Remember, always depend on God’s strength and not on your strength.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Don’t forget to pray for your mom and dad, too. Dad may be having a hard time at work, which means you can pray to God that He will give your dad the strength and the grace he needs as he goes to work tomorrow. You can also pray for your mom. You can pray that your mom will always be safe and that no accidents will happen when your mom does some house chores or when she needs to go outside of the house.

You can have this prayer as your guide before you go to sleep:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for everything You did for me today. Thank You for keeping my loved ones and me safe. I pray that You will keep us safe even as we go to sleep. I thank You for the grace that You have given me today. I was able to do the good things I did today because of Your help. Help me, Father, to always ask You for the strength and help that I need. Bless my dad, bless my mom, and bless all my loved ones. Thank You, Jesus, for dying for me on the cross and taking on the punishment of my sins. Give me the strength I need as I face tomorrow. I love you, Father, because You loved me first. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

1 John 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us.

A Children’s Bedtime Prayer

As you go to sleep, it is God Who keeps you safe. He is always with you. God never leaves you or forsakes you. But most of all, always thank Jesus for dying on the cross for your sins and for saving you. In Jesus, you have eternal life. You can also pray to the Holy Spirit to always help you live a life of obedience to God.
