40th Class Reunion Prayer [How To Pray]

Being reunited with your former classmates is not just a nostalgic moment in one’s life but also a wonderful time to spread God’s Word. It’s so great to see those people after so many years. Classmates who you spent time with, played with, studied with, and did all the other fun things a student does. That is what makes class reunions so exciting. It’s a time for former classmates to catch up on their lives. Some may have already achieved their schoolyard dreams, while others likely had unexpected events turn their lives around.

Why pray in your class reunion?

Being at a class reunion is a great opportunity to witness Christ to your former classmates. Whether you were a Christian or not during your student life, it is still an excellent opportunity to catch up with old friends and minister to them. If you were already a Christian when you were classmates, you could be a great reminder of what you have been sharing with them since you were students, which is Jesus. If you were not a Christian back then, your testimony of how Jesus changed your life might have an even more significant impact as you minister to them.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Holy Spirit, empower me as I speak with my former classmates in our class reunion and use me as your instrument to preach the truth to them.

What are things I can pray for at my class reunion?

There are so many things that you can pray for at a class reunion. Always keep in mind that you are there to minister. One of the ways you can minister is to pray for them. People rarely reject someone’s prayers for them and is an opportunity to speak the truth and minister to them through your prayers, as Christ is the ultimate treasure and blessing one could have. There is no greater prayer than praying directly to the person that they may know Christ, and that the Holy Spirit will open their eyes to the truth.

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Holy Spirit, empower me as I speak with my former classmates in our class reunion and use me as your instrument to preach the truth to them.

Ephesians 2:1-9

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Here is a sample prayer to use:

Father, I thank you because no one is too far from Your grace. We thank you because you open the eyes of the blind, give life to dead bones, and soften the hardened heart. Father, I pray for (name of the person) that you will open their eyes so they may see the truth of the Gospel. I pray that they will know what Your Son did for them on the cross and that He paid for the penalty of their sin so that they may be righteous in Christ and have eternal life. I pray that you give them the grace to believe in the work of Christ and who He is, and leave their old life of sin behind to follow you instead. May they see the mercy and grace that you have, displayed in the work of Christ. We thank you because they have this joy that shall never be taken from them in Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Holy Spirit, empower me as I speak with my former classmates in our class reunion and use me as your instrument to preach the truth to them.
