[How To Pray] 50th Anniversary Prayer

When something good reaches the 50-year mark (provided it is something God-honoring), that is evidence of God’s faithfulness. A 50-year anniversary, whether a wedding anniversary, church anniversary, friendship anniversary, or company anniversary, is an important milestone. There is no more excellent way to celebrate such an event than to sing praises and glory to God, remember His faithfulness, and thank Him for it. It is all about God.

Deuteronomy 6:12

Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

How do you thank God for the anniversary?

You can thank God by humbling yourself before Him, giving all praise to Him, acknowledging that it was all Him, and remembering the things He did. Everything you celebrate on your anniversary is a byproduct of God’s grace and mercy. That is why all credit goes to God.

Psalm 16:2

O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

Suppose you are celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary with your spouse, congratulations! You made it by the grace of God. Any couple will agree that married life is not easy. It has its ups and downs, good times and bad times, comfort and hardships, but by God’s grace, you and your spouse survived and are still here, sticking together through thick and thin, ’til death do you part.

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long.

50th Anniversary Prayer

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Mark 10:9

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Here is a sample prayer you can pray as you celebrate:

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long. If not for you, we wouldn’t have gotten this far. We thank You because you have given us the grace to persevere and never give up, neither in our Christian walk nor our marriage. We thank You because even through those times of hardships in our marriage, we have become more and more like Your Son Jesus. We have grown in patience, understanding, compassion, selflessness, and Christlikeness. We pray that You will use us to set a good example and mentor young couples just starting in their married life. We thank You for everything. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long.

50th Anniversary Prayer

What do you say at a church anniversary?

A prayer for the church is a good thing to say on a church anniversary. A church that is still there after 50 years—persevering, obeying God, and continuing to glorify God—is an amazing thing to witness. Throughout church history, many movements have either died down or strayed from the path of sound Christian doctrines. That is why witnessing a church still faithfully serving God after 50 years is so wonderful to see.

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long.

50th Anniversary Prayer

Hebrews 12:1-2

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Here is a sample prayer you can pray:

Father, I thank You, for you have been gracious to preserve our church throughout the decades. Thank You, for it is your grace that has kept us doing the things that you have commanded the church to do and to be, and it is your mercy that has kept us from straying from your teachings. We thank You for the privilege of using our church as your instrument to be the salt and light to the world. I pray that even the next generation of this church will continue to walk faithfully towards you, Father, and continue the old generation’s work. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Celebrating 50 Years of Friendship

Genuine godly friends who never leave you, stick with you through thick and thin, and walk with you in your Christian life are people you should cherish and value forever. The Bible clarifies the value and importance of godly friends in one’s Christian walk. One can never live a Christian life alone. Below is a sample prayer if you are celebrating 50 years of friendship with someone:

Father, I thank You for blessing me with a genuine and godly friend who sticks with me even in times of adversity. A friend who loves at all times. Thank You for giving me godly friends who correct me when I’m wrong, encourage me when I am down, and always tell me what I need to hear in line with Your Word, not just the things I want to hear. Father, I thank You for using them to make me grow as a Christian. May our friendship continue to stay strong by Your grace and set an example to both believers and unbelievers regarding what genuine friendships should be. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

What are some friendship quotes?

Here are some friendship quotes from the Scriptures themselves:

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:

and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

-Proverbs 18:24

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long.

50th Anniversary Prayer

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

-Proverbs 17:17

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long.

50th Anniversary Prayer

Faithful are the wounds of a friend;

but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

-Proverbs 27:6

Father, we thank You for your grace that has sustained my spouse and I for so long.

50th Anniversary Prayer

The concept of friendship is not just in the Bible, but also in secular culture. However, it is important to base our worldview about friendship on the Bible. Hence, we get quotes about friendship from the Bible, rather than from other sources.

Remember that it is all about God whenever you celebrate any anniversary, whether it is for a marriage, church, or friendship. It is all a byproduct of His grace and mercy. All glory and praises belong to Him. Soli Deo Gloria.
