The purpose of praying while you eat breakfast is to thank God. You thank God for the breakfast that you are about to eat. But when you thank God, you don’t just thank God because of the breakfast. You thank God because He has been faithful towards you and your family and that His love is steadfast.
A Christian, being a work in progress, may find himself or herself in a season where they are struggling to have a consistent prayer life. Recognizing that you are neglecting your prayer life and repenting from it is a good start.
A prayer line works similarly to an emergency hotline. For example, if you just got into an accident and need urgent medical help, you directly contact an emergency hotline like 911. In the area of mental health, there are also hotlines.
Whenever we close our prayer by saying the phrase “in Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen,” let it be something that we say not out of mere repetition or tradition, but something that we speak out of faith in the finished work of Christ, knowing that we can only approach God’s throne of grace through Him.
Heavenly Father, all wisdom and understanding come from You alone. I pray that name of the person shall delight in the fear of You, which is the beginning of wisdom, and that they shall always walk in wisdom, prudence, and good sense. May they always desire wisdom more than gold and that they shall always hate what is evil and turn their feet away from it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Heavenly Father, You are our good Father Who gives good things to His children. I pray that whenever I find myself in times of need or difficulties, I will never try to solve my problems independently. But instead, I shall come before You in humility and ask You for what I need since I depend on You. Thank You because you are my good Father, and the only things that You give me are good gifts. Help me to trust Your will and wisdom as You answer my prayer. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
